A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited bulk messages, but this problem can be rectified by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux shared website hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all option for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to configure a catch-all email mailbox with ease even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you’ve created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated.
